SUMMARY: The Enterprise Business Architect proactively leads and supports EA activities that strategically guide business and operating models, people, processes and technology. The Enterprise Business Architect works closely with strategy and business leaders to create alignment between business and IT. The Enterprise Business Architect clarifies strategic intentions, identifies business outcomes, explores implications, impacts and risks, and addresses stakeholders' questions. He/she creates deliverables for business leaders that support organizational change and investments in response to disruptive forces and toward achieving targeted business outcomes. The business architect facilitates discussion around the construction of business models, which may include technology, business capabilities, value-streams & processes and other keybusiness architecture deliverables. The Enterprise Business Architect helps strategy and business leaders understand, apply, monetize and operationalize existing, new, and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business and operating models.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.Analyzes the organization's digital strategy and how the organization currently approaches digital innovation and monetization.Engages key business stakeholders to identify business and technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable and drive business strategy. Focuses on growing revenue, optimizes costs, and mitigates risksCollaborates with and facilitates enterprise stakeholders involved in digital strategy and digital innovationConstructs deliverables that demonstrate how to move the business toward realizing its strategic goals and targeted business outcomesUses actionable and diagnostic deliverables to help the business and IT leaders make informed IT investment decisionsAssesses near-term and long-term needs, to establish business IT investment prioritiesUtilizes a toolbox of business architecture deliverables to help business leaders identify and make IT investment decisions. Deliverables include, but are not limited to:o Business-outcome-statementso Scenario planningo Business capability modelingo Value-streams mappingo Business process modelso Customer and user profilingo Journey mapsBuilds out the story building blocks by asking and answering key business and operating model questionsEnsures the business and operating models fit together by showing the interdependences between components, and that the business model story makes senseSeeks ways to drive adoption of new technology and reuse existing technology for enabling business capabilities, value streams and business processesResearches and provides information on emerging technology trends and disruptions and competitors' practices relevant to assigned LOB customersProvides internal management consultancy services to business leaders, business units and lines of business, helping them with design thinking, business modeling, ecosystem modeling, innovation management, IT investment analysis, and operating model design.Facilitates development of crosslines of business solutions that combine knowledge of business capabilities, value streams and business processesConsults with technical subject matter experts to develop technical solutions. Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.Collaborates with infrastructure and project teams to ensure continuous delivery of business outcomes, as well as to identify when it is necessary to evolve the business architectureParticipates in development and application of standards and minimal viable architectures through the EA governance modelParticipates in the EA governance and assurance process to identify business, information, solutions, technical and security architecture issues at the front end of the project life cycle, and with product managers and product owners at the different stages of the Agile and product lifecycleWorks with key organizational stakeholders, enterprise and domain architects, to define a strategic plan for leveraging integrated business architecture as part of the organization's overall enterprise architectureCollaborates with other IT functional areas to remain apprised of project and product status and informs line of business customer management of progress. Conversely, keeps IT's technology, service managers and agile teams aware of key LOB customer issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflictsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCECollege degree or equivalent management/work experience (At least 10 years), which includes practical experience in Information Technology and IT Security Minimum 4 years' experience with cloud-based enterprise infrastructure architecture and/or operations requiredExperience in using architecture methodologies such as SABSA, Zachman and/or TOGAF requiredKnowledge and understanding of different types of business and operating models (existing, new, emerging and hybrid) requiredKnowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies and ability to practically apply them to new business designs and business models to achieve targeted business outcomes requiredKnowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing business capabilities, value streams, business processes, and organizational structures requiredComprehensive knowledge of facilitation of projects and products, and organization change management requiredStrong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects requiredKnowledge of finance, accounting, valuation and metrics development requiredStrong anticipatory, statistical and information analysis skills (a plus) requiredOrganizationally and politically savvy The Enterprise Business Architect will need to be a consummate diplomat capable of understanding and navigating the personalities, obstacles and politics of the organization requiredAbility to communicate, influence and persuade both business and IT leaders, as well as peers requiredUses the language of business leaders and join the conversation that's taking placeAbility to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and see how they can support business needsAbility to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidenceAbility to analyze project and product needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problemsUnderstands business process management, workflow and integration methods and toolsHighly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideals and strategiesOrganizationally savvy comfortable, experienced and accomplished at working with business executives, and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic mannerRemains unbiased specific technology-and vendor-neutral more interested in results than personal preferencesHighly innovative with aptitude for foresight, and design and systems thinkingAbility to work independentlySelf-motivated" At BankUnited the healthand well-being of our employees, customers and communities is of top priority.
