Job Description:
Front desk, record keeping, customer service Standard high
school diploma or GED Minimum 6 months - 2 years' experience
maintaining customer accounts Ability to organize, maintain and
retrieve detailed information in an efficient manner Receives,
reviews, and processes applications for business tax receipts.
---Reviews supporting documentation such as certificates of use,
state licenses, and all other required documents. ---Consults
customers and staff from and other departments in person or over
the telephone concerning procedures for obtaining a business tax
receipt and information regarding city, county and state business
tax receipt requirements. ---Refers customers to appropriate City,
County, State, and Federal agencies for further assistance in
meeting requirements for a business tax receipt. ---Verifies
information provided in applications and supporting documentation
through State and local databases. ---Files and maintains records.
May perform other clerical duties such as sorting and mailing
Business Tax Receipts. ---Performs other related work as required.
Some knowledge of the provisions for business tax receipts as
stipulated in Chapter 86 of the City of Hialeah Code of Ordinances.
---Some knowledge of databases such as: SunBiz and the other
various State of Florida databases and City of Hialeah databases.
---Some knowledge of general record keeping practices. ---Some
knowledge of computer based applications, such as Microsoft Office.
---Ability to interpret rules, regulations and policies, and to
make decisions in accordance with established procedures.
---Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
---Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with fellow employees, government officials and the
general public. ---Ability to organize, maintain and retrieve
detailed information in an efficient manner. A standard high school
diploma or GED and minimum (6 months - 2 years) experience
maintaining customer accounts in a customer service environment OR
---Equivalent combination of training and experience beyond a
standard high school diploma or GED
