Florida National University - Univision - Major Responsibilities: Pays employees by calculating pay and deductions; issuing checks. Follow all FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulation and the FNU Code of Ethics. As well as, Title IX, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, as amended from time to time (''FERPA''), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014, as amended from time to time (''FIPA''), the EU General Data Protection Regulation as amended from time to time (GDPR) and all other applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulationsSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:1. Read, understand and comply with the university''s mission, the catalog, the university''s policies and procedures, the Staff Handbook and Institutional Effectiveness process.2. Respond to communications (e-mail, voice mail) on a daily basis.3. Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data into ADP. 4. Updates payroll records by entering changes, exemptions, insurance coverage, and savings deductions. 5. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.6. Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.7. Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.8. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes. 9. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. 10. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.11. Must have working knowledge of ADP payroll and GP (Great Plains accounting software). 12. Will assist the purchasing department as needed.13. Understand and comply with the university''s mission and institutional effectiveness. 14. Participate in the self-studies and committees conducted by the university.15. Participate in the new students'' orientation.16. Supports and participates in the University''s Commencement Ceremonies.17. Performs any special project assigned by the President or supervisor.18. Performs other duties as assigned.19. Ensure they are in compliance with Title IX of Education Amendments Act of 1972.Qualifications/Requirements:Associate''s degree in Business Administration or AccountingOne year of experience in payroll and human resources environment. Experience with ADP and Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP)ADP Workforce Now experience and be highly proficient with the ADP Time and Attendance module Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Detail oriented and proficient with data entry and accuracy.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.Able to work with highly confidential and sensitive matters.Excellent interpersonal abilities to work with staff at all levels.Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishment, and other deductions.
