Major Responsibilities: The Online Learning Support Supervisor is responsible for supervising the support staff of the Distant Learning department and supporting the Faculty and Students using approved LMS platforms including Blackboard, Turnitin and Lockdown Browser. Manages online courses and course development, faculty training, mentoring and quality initiatives for Online Learning to support student success and completion. Ensures accessibility issues related to online instruction are addressed quickly, complies with applicable regulations, creates and submits reports needed to maintain daily operation. Responds to inquiries and works with other FNU departments. Applies operating policies and procedures with a focus on online course development, faculty training and mentoring. Uses multi-media and production services in support of online instructional programs offered by the University. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Reads, understands and complies with the FNU'S mission, catalog, policies and procedures, Staff Handbook, and institutional effectiveness processes.2. Provides leadership in the daily operation, development, coordination, acceptance, and implementation of distance education.3. Supervises Distance Learning support staff.4. Hires, evaluates, trains, schedules, disciplines and recommends the dismissal of online learning staff as necessary.5. Creates and implements staff schedules to ensure the online learning students and faculty are supported as needed.6. Works collaboratively with Division Head, Department Chairs, faculty, staff, and other University departments in the coordination, development, and delivery of quality distance education courses and programs7. Develops and provides Blackboard training as well as other online learning platforms to new faculty and identify training activities and workshops for existing distance learning faculty to enhance technological skills.8. Ensures best practices in online teaching and other academic initiatives are used to support student success and completion.9. Develops and supervises a supportive distance-learning environment for faculty and students.10. Networks with distance learning and faculty professional development colleagues throughout the US.11. Stays current on industry literature, knowledge and best practices in order to stay abreast of trends and developments in online learning.12. Makes recommendations for program and technology enhancements, as appropriate,13. Coordinates with the hosting provider any technical issues to get them resolved without affecting the ongoing classes online.14. Perform administrative and technical preventative tasks on Blackboard, Campus Nexus and all the other online applications, platforms, services and software to ensure maximum uptime and the daily operations of all online learning resources.15. Report, follow and escalate until repaired any issues related to the Blackboard-Campus Nexus integration to Blackboard Support Team and/or Campus Nexus Support.16. Supervise the proper setup of the course content for all the incoming classes.17. Develop and provide support on hybrid courses.18. For new courses, facilitate the procurement of all the resources for Blackboard from the textbook publisher's website.19. Coordinates training for new students in the Blackboard platform.20. Grant access to faculty and Division Heads to special courses, especially for the Nursing Program.21. Performs backups, exports, and restores courses to ensure faculty accessibility to the archive classes for discrepancies purposes.22. Copy, export and import of courses from Course Site to Blackboard.23. Monitor faculty participation and create the weekly Faculty Participation report to all Division and Department Heads as well as VP of Academic Affairs and the Campus Dean and Assistant Deans.24. Designs and implements tutorials in Blackboard according to the necessities of the university.25. Reports students' attendance during the 2nd and 8th weeks of classes to the Registrar Office, Division and Department Heads, and to all Faculty.26. Coordinates and supervise faculty and student support through Blackboard Collaborate, via phone, email and in person as it relates to Blackboard issues, learning activities, and troubleshooting27. Works in conjunction with the Office of Publications to ensure that the Blackboard content is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.28. Coordinates and supervises the integration of Turnitin and Lockdown Browser with Blackboard29. Supervise and coordinate the use 30. Support and participate in University Commencement Ceremonies.31. Performs special projects assigned by President or supervisor.32. Responds to communications (e-mail/voice-mail) on a daily basis.33. Supports ensuring compliance with licensing and accrediting organizations.34. Participates in the new students' orientation.35. Participate in the Institutional Effectiveness Master Plan process, self-studies, and committees conducted by the University.36. Ensures compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972.37. Performs other duties as assigned.38. Follow all FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulations, and the FNU Code of Ethics. As well as, Title IX, Family Educational Rights, and Privacy Act, as amended from time to time ("FERPA"), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014, as amended from time to time ("FIPA"), the EU General Data Protection Regulation as amended from time to time (GDPR) and all other applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations. Education/Experience: _ _Required _: knowledge of LMS and Blackboard._ Required _: BS/BA in Education, online learning, educational technology, instructional design, or related field._ Experience serving as a technical lead on coordinating organizational implementation, testing, training, and support Experience monitoring performance and schedule to maintain the quality of services, deliverables, and content within proposed budget Experience monitoring, evaluating, and customizing blackboard learning management, extensions, related tools and interfaces Experience configuring, maintaining LMS building blocks and web services Handling the planning, installing, testing and implemented new releases (service packs), updates, patches and extensions. Demonstrated experience with online learning in higher education across a range of programs and degree/certificate types. Preferred: Master's degree in Education, online learning, educational technology, instructional design, or related field. Experience with budgeting, financial management, and supervision of personnel. Familiarity with graphic design elements used for web-based instruction and learning. _Required: minimum of four (4) years of progressively experience in higher education in a supervisory position._ Demonstrated experience with online learning in higher education across a range of programs and degree/certificate types. Excellent communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
