To be considered for this position, please apply via this link - > Position Description The Director of Human Resources and Safety provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization's HR operations. The Director is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.This position requires a hands-on thought leader that would be able to successfully evaluate the needs between the dynamic operations and the human resource function, while recommending and implementing change through long term strategic thinking that is supported by calculated tactics. The Director of Human Resources and Safety reports to the CEO of the company. Essential Job Functions Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization's long-term mission and long-term/ short-term goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management. Identifies key performance indicators for the organization's human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization's success and market competitiveness based on these metrics. Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs. This would include recommending internal equity strategies to close gaps due to inflation and minimum wage changes. Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues. Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements by auditing and updating policies, forms, HRIS set-up, etc. Audits the HRIS access to ensure proper security measures and access for all employees. Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management. Drafts and implements the budget for the human resource department and utilizes proper financial tools and measures to suggest improvements for company budgetary purposes and reconciliation of HR related items. Reviews, revises, and implements all employee related policies to ensure compliance and provide a structure on processes relating to talent management. Collaborates with specialist in the HR/ Safety department to ensure annual goals and plans are successfully implemented and audits the overall progress. Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Advances human resource staff job results by counseling and coaching employees, and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Reviews company training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level HR staff and supports the recruitment process for the executive level roles. Conducts onboarding for executive level roles and supports the long-term onboarding by providing support and conducting stay interviews to evaluate engagement. Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures. Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting, as well as mandatory training. Monitors and analyses the overall company performance on Workers Compensation claim trends and near misses and implements strategies to improve reporting times and frequencies of accidents. Performs other related duties as assigned. Desired Skills for Success : Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years_Preferred: _ Experience implementing HRIS _(UKG Pro Preferred)_ Experience with blue collar workforce (minimum wage workforce) Experience working in the service industry SHRM-SCP or SPHR_Required: _ A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related Bilingual (English/ Spanish) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization skills, time management, and change management skills.
