Job Description:
Florida National University - Major Responsibilities: Creates a
classroom environment and develops curriculum that is conducive to
learning and fosters developmental growth in children. Teach and
supervise the children, while also motivating them to use their
mental capacities and exercise their imagination. Follow all - -
FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulation and the FNU Code of
Ethics. As well as, Title IX, Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act, as amended from time to time ("FERPA"), Florida Information
Protection Act of 2014, as amended from time to time ("FIPA"), the
EU General Data Protection Regulation as amended from time to time
(GDPR) and all other applicable federal, state and local laws,
rules, and regulations. -Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1.
Understand and comply with the Little Angels Children Development
Center's mission and institutional effectiveness process. 2. Read,
understand and comply with the University's mission, the catalog,
the University's policies and procedures, the Staff Handbook and
Institutional Effectiveness process. 3. Respond to communications
(e-mail, voice mail) on a daily basis. 4. Instruction of the
curriculum used by the center.(Creative) 5. Planning, teaching and
implementing the curriculum for all children from infants through
preschool children that reflects the children's learning and
growth. - Develop the lesson plan for the classroom on a weekly
basis. 6. Providing love and quality care for the children
throughout the day in order to meet their emotional and physical
needs. Interacting with children both physically and verbally
throughout the day. 7. Planning and executing indoor and outdoor
experiences appropriate to the developmental levels of the
children. 8. Provide responsive care to all children by adapting
daily care giving routines and plans the interests and needs of the
individual child and/or group. - 9. Attend in-service and staff
development-training programs 10. Ensures cultural competencies and
respect for the child's background by incorporating the cultural,
linguistic, and familial values and beliefs into the Child Care
program and lesson plans. - -11. Maintains ongoing, open
communication with parents/caregivers and plans periodic parent
conferences to discuss children's developmental progress, needs,
and interests. - 12. Maintain accurate, complete and timely
progress reports; ensures daily meal, playground, and attendance
records are accurately kept. 13. Completes daily health checks
regarding hygiene, safety and the overall well-being of the
children; documents any/all incidents relative to the child
appropriately and timely. - 14. Utilizes appropriate positive
behavior strategies and re-direction with children; develops
individualized behavior management plans as needed. - 15. Keep
records of assistance and all paperwork on the class. 16. Cleaning
and care of toys and materials on her class and the center. As well
as the playground area. 17. Responsible for serving meals and
cleaning after meals. 18. Communicate with parents about child's
progress or concerns on a daily basis. 19. Must be on time and
wearing pictures ID provided by the center administration. 20.
Agree and conduct the self evaluation annually setting a self
development goal. 21. Filling the cleaning and medicines log daily
or as needed. - 22. Keep a minimum of 20 of in service hours every
school year. 23. Participate in the extracurricular activities
conducted at the center. 24. Absences must be scheduled at least
one week prior to the day to be off and in the case of an emergency
contact the director as soon as possible. 25. Support and
participate in University Commencement Ceremonies. 26. Participate
in the new students' orientation. 27. Participate in the
self-studies and committees conducted by the University. 28. Ensure
they are in compliance with Title IX of Education Amendments Act of
1972. Requirements: Prefer a minimum of 6 months experience working
with children Flexible and energetic on the job Have the ability to
juggle multiple duties Ability to resolve conflicts between
children Excellent communication and people skills Level II finger
printing and AHCA background screening 1 year of experience as a
Teacher at a Child Care Center or related facility/school. High
School diploma - CPR AED & First Aid (Pediatric) CDA Certificate
(national not required, but accepted) 45 hours of Child Care
Training (mandated by DCF) Must be reliable, dependable, and a team

perception and ability to adjust focus.
